Cob and Straw Bale Hybrid Houses

My Comments:  Just a delightful, inspiring collection of cob and straw homes, here in Canada (mainly on the west coast).
Beautiful curves, skylights, big thick walls all endear me to this type of building. The light flows in very differently in these homes – I know, I live in one (well, a straw one, which is similar). Check out the frog outdoor fireplace, the lovely cob gardens and built in seats, into the walls. They use bottles and ‘porthole’ type windows, which is just charming. The guest house was built for $900! One of the other things that really attracts me to cob is that anything goes, with the style, and shape of the walls. Nature works in waves and curves, not straight lines, so I feel that is why I am so endeared to this style. They show towards the end, the garden shed – surely we could all start out trying out hand at something as simple as that?!
Makes me want to get digging some clay and get started already!  What do you think?…

    Hello Josie
Thanks for stopping by to view the site!
Sorry, I don’t know who built the house. Maybe try leaving a comment on the Youtube site for who built it. The other thing you could do is contact Ianto & Lynda Evans (just google them – they are the Cob building Guru’s) and see if they know. It certainly is a lovely house!
    Best regards

Hello. Would really like to know the name of the builder of the cob house you’re speaking of, the green one. I’ve seen it on YouTube. May I have it? Thank you.
